I’m currently studying my Master's in Computing and Electronic Systems at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. Projects I have worked on include building a remote control arm-based game, building the arm from our own design, 3D printing iterations, building firmware to use with an MSP430, as well as interfacing with our own web app running both client and server applications via a Raspberry Pi. My dissertation, “Per Country Analysis of Distributed Denial of Service Attacks” focussed on a software design parsing trillions of packets of data, to look for patterns in attacks which may be able to help form a response to future incidents.
My Master's Project: "A Framework for Ad Hoc Dynamic Licensing for Private Mobile Networks" aims to improve the licensing system behind shared spectrum networks in the UK, governed by Ofcom. 5G networks are able to operate using the shared spectrum spectrum and offer several promising uses when mobile network operators (MNOs) are unable to keep up with demand, such as camera uplinks in broadcasting, clear channel communications for events, even in popup temporary networks in disaster relief. The licensing, however leaves something to be desired, and can take six weeks or even longer to be authorised, this can pose significant issues in short term planning, as events can transpire and pass before licenses are granted. At the end of this project, these networks should be able to self-regulate their license and change frequencies if interference or other issue are detected.
